Senior System Architect Global Solutions

Work as a technical architect and design software solutions and architecture concepts, including system sizing, infrastructure and hardware selection, and system integration concepts. Work as Technical Project Manager to implement global multi-tier web applications including necessary technical solutions for internationalization and localization (multi-language, currency, tax, units of measurement etc.), and execute 24/7operations with teams across multiple time zones.

Your tasks:

Responsible for support and maintenance and supervises logging, monitoring, and tracing of enterprise solutions using Nagios, Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar technologies. Identify and introduce performance and stability optimization measures, control load distribution and cluster setup (memory, CPU, network traffic monitoring on application and database servers).
Design and develop authentication, authorization, security and encryption technologies and solutions.
Manage software development life cycles with strategic technology concepts.
Define and align architecture and implementation approaches as well as build and deployment strategies with distributed international development and DevOps teams.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to select the necessary tools and approaches to delivering highly robust, secure and stable solutions, including load and performance tests, test automation and artificial test data generation.
Collaborate with German and U.S. based teams and global customers from the insurance, automotive and retail sectors with focus on retail specific processes and solutions (eCommerce, purchasing processes, price management, product information management, promotion management, and omni-channel approaches including mobile solutions).

What We Want:

Must have Master’s Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Physics, or related field.
Must have ten (10) years of experience with working as a technical lead, project manager, or architect in multiple large complex enterprise IT/software projects with the corresponding project management tools such as MS Project, MS Visio, MS Office Suite, Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence Wiki, or similar.
Must have ten (10) years of experience with designing, building and selling software architecture, including (a) system sizing, (b) hardware selection processes, (c) environment management, and (d) network and system landscape integration; and data modelling, and integrating and managing backends with relational database such as DB2, Oracle, and MS SQL.
Must also have five (5) years of experience with (1) eCommerce platforms or portal frameworks like SAP hybris, Intershop or Liferay; (2) DevOps concepts, build and deployment related tasks, including (a) management of distributed systems and clusters, (b) environment maintenance, (c) OS level system, and (d) IT infrastructure management; (3) design, architecture and implementation of authentication and authorization algorithms; and (4) query and script languages like SQL, Perl, Unix Shell.
Must be fluent in English and German to allow for providing software architecture PM tasking to teams in U.S. and Germany. 10% domestic travel and 10% international travel required. Use case in software programming test is part of application process.
